Our Story

The Founders

Eye Envy was founded in 2001 with a $300 investment and a hunch. Founder, Lisa Burns, was a breeder of Himalayan and Persian cats and like most innovations, Eye Envy was borne out of frustration. Both breeds had the propensity for unsightly tear stains and there was not a product available to remedy this problem.

With the help from her family – Lisa’s Uncle was a chemist – Eye Envy Tear Stain Remover was developed. After an appearance on Jay Leno’s “Tonight Show” the product began gathering momentum. Lisa began attending dog shows, which launched her into the breeding, grooming and pet industry. Lisa enlisted more family members, both her brothers and her husband Cal became an integral part of operations and manufacturing.

The Next Generation

Family runs big in Eye Envy, in September 2014, Eye Envy changed ownership to brothers Marcelo and Marco Lalau. Originally, pet spa owners, the Lalaus became friends with Lisa and Cal who frequented their Grooming Salon. The brothers then began selling Eye Envy and having the same ethos and traditions, they became an obvious and trusted choice to grow the brand.

The brothers’ adhere to the founder’s principles – developing safe products that are made of only the best ingredients and to better pets’ overall health. They also continue the charitable work, participating in 4 Paws 4 Patriots event to help veterans receive service dogs and support the breeder community, with free starter kits for puppies and kittens among other events.

Eye Envy products continue to be made with safe, human-grade and/or organic ingredients at the Eye Envy plant in Carson, CA. They are tested and recommended by veterinarians, breeders, groomers, and most important pet owners.
