Predisposition. Breeding for the selection of a flat, pushed-in face and prominent face folds leads to an increased risk of multiple health problems. These problems include skin fold dermatitis and excessive tearing due to the prominent eyes.

Allergies. Food allergies and food intolerance in Bulldogs are more widespread than in any other canine breed due to their genetic makeup. There are many food ingredients that can cause allergies in your Bulldog. A diet change can help reduce staining.

Build-Up. Dirt, skin flakes, and loose hairs are easily trapped in skin folds, creases, and tail pockets, making air circulation difficult. This creates an ideal breeding ground for yeast and the onset of skin issues.

How to use the Bulldog Wrinkle and Nose Care Kit

Step 1. Bulldog Wipes®

Apply to dry fur. Use the wipes to carefully remove debris from between folds, nose ropes, inside tail pockets, and gunk from around the eye.

Follow with a new, clean wipe, and gently rub the cleaned area to get down to the skin. Can be used to clean and prevent irritation on the inside of the outer ear.

Wipe the inside of the ear flap gently. Do not insert into the ear canal.

Step 2. Tear Stain Remover Powder

Use the ProPowder Applicator Brush to gently apply the powder between the skin folds and into the fur. Blend the powder evenly against the direction of the hair growth. Allow to absorb naturally.

Use around the eyes, do not rub directly into the eyes. Do not ingest.

Step 3. On The Nose Therapy Balm

Apply a light coat daily to the nose until dry/cracked skin is smooth and silky. Use regularly to protect the nose once healed.

Use the Bulldog Wipes® and Tear Stain Remover Powder daily until stains and odors disappear. Then repeat regularly to prevent irritation and build-up. With regular use, stains can be removed as early as 7 days.

This natural cleanser and stain/odor remover is perfect for stained fur and smelly skin rolls. Its medicinal properties also help reduce stains when the cause is a condition known as Malassezia - also known as Skin (or Tail) Fold Yeast Dermatitis.

Witch Hazel
Keeps the area dry, making it an unfavorable environment for the production of yeast. Moist skin folds, nose ropes and tail pockets can become breeding grounds for yeast.

Colloidal Silver
A natural remedy that helps control and stop the secretion of porphyrin excreted in tears, which cause the deep reddish-brown stains and appears in the skin folds around the face.

Goldenseal
Goldenseal mimics the properties of a natural antibiotic to help remove the bacteria causing tear staining.

Echinacea
Like Goldenseal, Echinacea is also an anti-inflammatory and acts as a natural antibiotic, helping clear up any bacterial infections.

Eyebright
Has been used since the Middle Ages to treat eye issues, including infected, inflamed and irritated eyes. This herb has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and astringent properties. Eyebright contains the substance Aucubin, which stimulates the production of proteins that are involved in the healing processes.

Natural Cleanser
This natural cleanser and natural antibacterial is used in well-established eye treatments to help relieve irritation and discomfort. In powder form it is also a pharmaceutical grade drying agent, which keeps the affected area dry.

Eye Envy On the Nose Balm Ingredients

Shea Butter
Contains anti-inflammatory compounds and is extremely moisturizing and hydrating. It provides immediate softness and smoothness. The SPF is approximately 6 so provides some protection against the sun, and it’s highly moisturizing properties make it ideal for noses subject to dry, windburn and winter conditions.

Sweet Almond Oil
Reduces inflammation and is an excellent emollient, used to moisturize and eliminate excessively dry noses. It is also a mild pain reliever and helps wounds heal faster.

Kukui Nut Oil
Forms a protective barrier against environmental damage. It is also deep-penetrating and used to treat windburn, sunburn, chapped and cracked dry skin conditions. Packed with nutrients, it keeps noses nourished and healthy.

Coconut Butter
Is packed with antiviral, antifungal, antimicrobial and antibacterial properties, which helps minimize yeast and bacterial infections.

Cocoa Seed Butter

Jojoba forms an oily layer on the top of the nose that traps water and replaces its loss that causes the dryness. Jojoba Oil is rich in iodine, which fights harmful bacteria growth. It also reduces skin lesions and speeds up the closure of wounds.

Beeswax
Nature’s very best! Renowned for forming a protective barrier, it helps protect noses from environmental assaults, while also holding in moisture, hydrating over time and reducing dryness. Like honey it has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which can help encourage the healing of wounds and reduce itching caused by the healing of burns.
